The word “CAREER” is derived from “CARRIERE,” which in French means ‘racecourse.’ When your race begins in iQ Med, you’ll not be the lone runner – you’ll have to contend with competition. But if you study the track well and run well, you may well be a contender for the next level – “Area manager.” The job of an Area Manager entails working with a team of Medical representatives – accompanying them on doctor and chemist calls, iron out wrinkles in their presentation and customer identification skill, ensure timely submission of reports, vetting tour programme and expense statements, assessing their strengths and weaknesses, conduct annual appraisals and most importantly meeting sales commitments. Acquitting yourself creditably on the job will help you move further up in the organization.

• On occasions, the first-level managers can land themselves in head office jobs too.
• If they have demonstrated good planning ability, have well developed language skills and are considered to be creative, they may be absorbed into the PMT.
• If their product knowledge is good and have adequate interpersonal skills, they may go into training.
• Those who start as product executives can look forward to becoming Product managers, Group Product Managers and some may end up as Chief Executive - Marketing too.
• Those who are into training may finally end up in the HR division or may even head the division.
• Other avenues available for Medical Representatives are: Distribution, Marketing Services, Advertising and Sales Promotion and New Business Development both at national and international level.

Thus, it can well be said that the limit to career advancement in iQ Med is the limit you set for yourself.
